Visy Logistics Australia is a key player in the global logistics sector, recognized for providing sustainable, digitally advanced supply chain solutions. As a critical Division of Visy Industries, we harness the company's substantial volume, footprint, and infrastructure, as well as its manufacturing and procurement prowess, to offer tailored Logistics solutions to all participants in the Industrial, Beverage, and Consumer Goods sectors.
Our Visy Logistics team is currently seeking a Divisional Accountant with exceptional operational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage relationships effectively across various business units. The Role
Reporting to the Accounting and Administration Manager - Visy Logistics (VL) and based at our Clayton (Vic) office, you will be a key member of the VL Finance team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing critical financial insights, analysis, and reporting to facilitate informed decision-making.
You will be responsible for managing the financial operations and provide accounting, finance, systems and process improvement, commercial and management support in an accurate and timely manner. The role also is required to assist and support the finance team with projects as they arise to achieve continuous improvement and deliver value add to the Visy Logistics division.
In addition to the above but not limited to, key responsibilities are:
- Responsible for mid-month estimate and month end closing processes and tasks
- Preparation, maintenance, and oversight of all daily, weekly, and monthly management reporting
- Prepare and analyse financial reports, as well as annual budget and forecast activities
- Ensure VL ledgers are compliant with corporate policies and accounting standards as well as prepare and review balance sheets, including identifying risk areas and implement corrective actions
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend cost saving initiatives
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
To be considered you must have:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; or CA/ CPA
- Proven experience in Management Accounting within a fast-paced environment preferably in the manufacturing, logistics or recycling industry
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in SAP and Consolidation & Reporting software (preferably Hyperion)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and problem-solving
- Very strong Microsoft Excel skills
